2010 Mission Trips

Adult Mission Trip to Tijuana

For the last few years Pastor Cate, our former Associate Pastor, has led mission trips to Tijuana to build houses for families in need and conduct mini-vacation Bible schools for local children. This year’s trip is set for June 11-18, 2010. Participants will assist with the construction of at least one house and conduct a VBS for children at or near the construction site.

The team will spend 6 nights in Mexico with the last night’s lodging in the San Diego area. Construction skills and fluency with the Spanish language are desired but not necessary.

Possible benefits include growth in your Christian faith, a greater appreciation of existing God-given gifts, re-evaluation of popular American values, the development of new friendships, a greater sensitivity to people of another culture, experiences with construction, Spanish language skill development and experiences working with children.

The cost is $500 plus round-trip air fare to San Diego. Participants must be at least 16 years old on or before the first day of the trip. Acceptance is on a first come, first served basis with a limit of 8 participants. All participants must possess a valid US Passport before we depart. A deposit of $50, due by March 31st payable to “Trinity Lutheran Church” (please write “Tijuana 2010” on the memo line) is needed to hold your reservation. Any reimbursement is dependent upon payments and commitments made at the time of cancellation.

If you have any questions, please contact Anna Wollin at 618-792-5040 or annamwollin@yahoo.com. Please complete a registration form (available in the church office) and return it with your deposit to Anna Wollin or to the church office no later than March 31, 2010.
